Las Vegas was discovered by Spanish traders who came to America in 17th century. They saw a valley which was green and had large supply of water and they called ‘The Meadows’ which in Spanish means ‘Las Vegas’.

Financial situation of this city was poor even at the start of 20th century and population was low as well. 1931 was the year when gambling was legalized in Nevada and in the same year Hover Dam’s construction brought many worker from all over America to Las Vegas. 60’s was the era when investors from all over the world got interested in Las Vegas. Large corporations got interested in it for building purposes and these big names turned the name of ‘Gambling’ to Gaming and played a big role in popularizing it.
